Plein Air Painting & Nature Drawing Workshops with
Paula Ensign
Plein Air Painting Workshop:
Experience the immediacy of painting outdoors, directly from nature. Learn to define subject matter, simplify shapes and capture the essence of a scene. Class will take place at three different locations in Bellevue. Students may paint in watercolor, oil or acrylic. Instructor will begin each class with a demonstration followed by ample time for student painting and ending with a discussion of the day's work.
3 day workshop: July 12, 13, and 14. 10-3pm. cost $200
Meets at Bellevue Art & Frame before taking off to Kelsey Creek Park, Bellevue Botanical Gardens & Larsen Lake.
Nature Drawing Workshop:
Learn to see with an artist's eyes. Examine and draw the graceful shapes of trees and flowers. No art experience necessary!
1 day workshop: July 15. 10-3pm. cost $75. Workshop takes place at Bellevue Botanical Gardens.
Getting your Feet Wet with Watercolor with
Emmett McLaughlin
Have fun exploring wet into wet and dry brush applications. Learn the proper strokes to achieve successful washes while practicing masking and resist techniques. This fluid and vibrant form of painting can be used to illustrate your life by enhancing journals and scrapbooks, creating cards or painting works of art!

Introduction to Mixed Media Collage with
Becky Stromberg
Learn the art of collage by playing with paper and paint! Create personalized works of art by combining vintage papers and photographs with acrylic paint. You will learn how to design and create depth and interest in your work using a variety of painting techniques and image transfer. 3 sessions: July 13, 20 and 27. 10-12 pm. cost $90, supplies needed.

Kiwibluekids: Ages 6 & up
Art enrichment class taught by professional Graphic Designer/Art Specialist Debra Mason. Each camp is theme based & runs 4 consecutive days. Students take home a matted piece of art each day!
4 day sessions: July 5-8, July 18-21, August 1-4, August 8-11 - 2:00-4:00 each day
$140/per session
Math Camps: For students entering 1st & 2nd grade
Adventures in Arrrgrithmatic - young pirates and their mates will use geometry and measurement to create pirates hats, ships and flags. These creative mathematicians will develop spatial reasoning by creating and using navigational charts and treasure maps. A swashbuckling fun math camp!
August 1st-5th - 9-12pm
Nature Detectives - will seek out and discover the properties of various shapes found in our natural world. Young naturalists will collect specimens and data from their natural environment and use various measurement tools to sort, analyze and classify by their properties. Students will also draw two dimensional shapes and describe qualitative change.
August 21st-26th - 9-12pm
