Mat Cutting made simple!
Back by popular demand: our mat cutting workshop! If you want to learn how to cut mats for your artwork or photography now is the time! It is easy if you have the right equipment and a little instruction. Using Logan Matcutters 301S, 450 and 750, we'll show you how to cut single, double and multiple opening mats. We will also show you how to cut custom mats for readymade frames.
Limit - 12 - Fee: $10 or free with purchase of a Logan matcutter. This is also a terrific way to "try before you buy". The $10 fee can be credited towards your matcutter purchase. Meets from 7:00 to 9:00pm Wednesday, January 26th.

Watercolor Sketchbook Workshop
. . . with Ron Stocke, Saturday, January 22 11am-1pm
Ron Stocke says "Keeping a sketchbook improves my paintings and has become the most valuable artistic tool I have".
This workshop/demo is for anyone interested in watercolor, sketching or keeping an artist journal. Ron will show you how to capture beautiful vignettes of your travels, experiences, and how he uses his sketchbook to develop interesting compositions and workout problems for future artwork. Ron will go through thumbnails, color studies, value studies and more using artist pens, graphite and watercolor. Keeping a sketchbook will improve anyone's artwork and is a valuable tool that can be used every day. This class should help students simplify their drawing skills.
Fee: $20, registration required. There is a small supply list and please bring a photo for reference. Ron uses the Aquabee Deluxe 808 sketchbook. Each attendee will get an 808 Sketchbook to work in an take home.

Wine & Art
For the heart!
A unique way to experience art. Class begins with a wine tasting creating a fun and relaxed environment followed by a step-by-step guided art lesson. Using acrylic paint in passionate colors on canvas and paper hearts that you will sculpt into leaf shapes we will create an original piece of art for you to take home. Come empty-handed and leave with a little more knowledge about wine and a beautiful piece of original artwork created by the most incredible artist in the world, you!

A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet, but we have to say our new scratch-and-sniff Valentines definitely smell sweeter than most! Peaceable Kingdom Press has created some of the most unique Valentine cards ever! How surprised will your special someone be when he or she gets a whiff of strawberry, vanilla, peppermint or yummy chocolate?

Naked Art
From February 1st to the 28th, the work of Lillyan George will be featured in our gallery space. Join us on February 12th for a meet and greet with the artist!
Lillyan describes her work as follows:
"In the process of art making I do not plan, but instead leave things to chance. I have adopted a technique of oil painting a background and then layering cut out drawings and patterned papers over the surface. The outcome is flat yet maintains depth. My landscapes are riddled with creatures; some innocent, some corrupt. Their intentions are transparent. Many of which seem to be aware that the viewer is watching them."
